time off is harder than i thought. i've been sleep walking quite a bit lately, to the pub, to the grocery store. been making lots of avocado tacos:
3 corn tortillas
1 avocado
1 tomato
alfalafa spouts
hot sauce
also been writing quite a bit. finished a few more songs, finished a rough of the song below, i have to make changes some of the lyrics, but this is the general direction. we'll be performing on WUWF 88.1 this weekend july 20th around 2pm. one can stream a live link:
we'll be playing as a three piece, acoustic, piano and violin. the show hopes to raise awareness for children's charity festival in march in Milton Florida... more details to come about this festival.
The Rose Chafer in the Country Wine
Walked all night through the streets
Searching in the cracks for a flower in the concrete
Brownstone buildings against dark blue sky
Like a rose chafer in the country wine
Looking in the windows, I saw a waitress
Obscured by a neon lamp and counting her tips
Strawberry moon and blinking city lights
Shown the blush on her cheeks as she walked outside
Then you had to do it with a fancy boy
A fancy boy who don’t dance like me
A fancy boy from the bourgeois
Now the streets are empty every day
And my first taste is still the same
Blood in my mouth and a sense of decay
Like strawberry wine gone bitter in spring
Strawberry blonde with a new sunrise
Tell all your wisdom with a stumbling cry
So the old Irish Rose and the anarchists
Might sleep in the hedgerows in fortified bliss
Then you had to do it with a fancy boy
A fancy boy who don’t dance like me
